The book 'Mereng' by Anuradha Sharma Pujari, beautifully picturises the life of Indira Miri, the Indian Educationist from Assam. She was born on 1910 in Shillong. She was a recipient of the fourth highest Indian civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1977 and Assam’s highest civilian Award ‘Sankardev Award’ in 2004. She completed her education from Bethune School and completed with a BA from Scottish Church College in Kolkata. She left for the heavenly abode in 2004.
