Born 23rd December, 1960 and hails from Shillong, Dr. Streamlet Dkhar is an eminent Khasi poet, dramatist, playwright, critic and scholar. She holds various degrees in Khasi, Philosophy & a Ph.D. She was a professor & former head of the Khasi Department, NEHU. Former, State Representative to Sahitya Akademi New Delhi, Former Regional Coordinator of NE Region on Capacity Building of Women Managers in Higher Education. Former Chairperson, Women’s Cell NEHU. Currently, she is Chairperson of All India Poetess and Dean School of Humanities, NEHU. She is a member of various Committees at NEHU, Dibrugarh University, Mizoram University and in a number of social organizations, literary associations, and poetry societies.
