India's Textiles and Apparel Industry contributed 2% to the GDP, 12% to export earnings and held 5% of the global trade in textiles and apparel in 2018-19. This industry generates employment opportunities for both skilled and unskilled labour. Collecting raw materials or fabrics and turning the fabrics into clothing with different designs, embroidery, stiching, etc are the basic operational structure of the Textile and Apparel industry. Under Learn and Earn, students can learn the art of making clothes and become Fashion Designer, Tailor, Ornamentalist and set up a business themselves or work in Multinational Companies.
