Coriander

An Italian herb Coriander is, today cultivated worldwide. In 2021, Madhya Pradesh produced the largest volume of coriander seeds. Coriander seeds is exported to over 140 countries. In 20202-2021, India exported worth 43.27 USD million coriander seeds. It is an important spice crop in flavouring food. The young plant is used in curries and the seeds are used to make powder, seasonings etc. It also has many medicinal properties like it is used against seasonal fever, stomach disorders and nausea. Coriander oil and oleoresins are primarily used in seasonings for sausages and other meat products. Coriander Cultivation can bring a boost in the economy of northeastern region and also bring welfare to the farming community.
