Why Is Academic Writing So Hard? Need Help for Improvement!

I’m not great at academic writing, and it feels like no matter how hard I try, my assignments just don’t sound ‘academic’ enough. I struggle with a formal tone, citing sources correctly, and just making paraphrasing in academic writing sound polished. I feel like I’m constantly losing marks for my writing style. How did you improve your academic writing skills? Any resources, tips, techniques or some lifeline of sorts would be greatly appreciated. I really want to get better at this, but I’m not sure where to start.
