Apiculture

Apiculture is the branch of Horticulture. The delicious, sweet and healthy honey that we consume and are found in every households is produced through the process of beekeeping. It is the form of scientific rearing of honey bee for the commercial production of honey and other bee products like pollen, wax, bee venom and royal jelly. Different types of bee varieties are Western bee, Wild Bee. Little Bee, Indian Bee. The process of maintenance of bee colonies production and process is called beekeeping. This process is usually done with man-made hives. National Bee Board (NBB) is responsible for coordinating beekeeping activity in the states of India. Bee cultivation in Northeast India depends on availability of flowering plants, land slope, distance from, water resources and roads. There should be space in between the hives so that pollination is not overcrowded.
